Alone
“It’s mine,” I say,
yet no one listens.
“I’m here,” I yell,
yet no one responds.
“I’ve won the race,”
yet no one is there.
“I’m alone,” I whisper,
and I hear a voice.
The voice is
far away.
It is I.
I am the voice
I hear.

Silent and Smooth
Stars floating in the moonlight sky,
My dog chasing the Rabbits through the field of dew drops.
Pots and Pans clanking against the walls,
as the crisp smell of cookies flows through the house.
My black and white cat rolling on the floor,
juggling a piece of yarn.
The taste of chocolate rushing across my tongue,
as I slowly make my way to the trickling sink.

Who Can?
Who can throw a baseball
from the U.S. to Pakistan?
I can!
Who in the world walked
a mile in her bare feet?
I did!
Who will go to the beach
and drink a coke and chill?
I will!
And when it’s dark who
will turn on the light?
I might!

Poems
My English teacher said
to write a poem
I groaned.
Poems are too girlish
I can’t rhyme
no ideas.
Poems show feelings
jokes, details.
Poems have 3 lines
5, 6 or 7.
Poems tell a story
that I can imagine.
Poems make you laugh
cry or get angry.
Poems show your fear
dreams, stunts.
Poems are too hard
I just don’t get it.
It’s due tomorrow
and I haven’t a clue.
I
just
can’t
write
poems.
Well, here goes.
There once was a little pig
Who liked to do a little jig
He’d dance all around
then bark like a hound
Until a pizza shop offered him a gig.
